Picture of Toy camera Two oriental children become enlightened while sitting on Budha¹s tree under their red Venetian blind pagoda. A variation on this theme has them sitting on a boat. Some say this is beauty. Some say it is junk. Lamp added 08/22/1997

Picture of Toy cameraWhen the old cobbler hung up her tools, Mister cobbler made a beautiful lamp as a remembrance. Or maybe his memory was not so beautiful. You be the judge. Lamp added 10/1/1997

Picture of Toy camera "The Deer Leg" is a company heirloom. The ownership rules state: When you leave the company you must autograph the base and pass it along to another current employee. I, Michael, am the 4th such owner and am proud to submit "The Deer Leg" as a group entrant in honor of those that have passed it on down to me. "The Deer Leg" is constructed out of an actual stuffed deer leg (hoof and all) and a lamp shade consisting of 4 different deer-in-the-wild photographs. Enjoy! Lamp added 03/21/1997

Picture of Toy cameraThis is a lamp from unknown origin. Jerry has had it for about 10 years now. It measures 4 feet tall. He thinks it's the color that endears it to him and disgusts his wife. It's one of Jerry's few prize possessions remaining from his bachelor days.. Lamp added 03/2/1998

Picture of Toy cameraThis lamp was given to Lina's daughter at her wedding shower by someone who hasn't come forward yet to this day and Linda's family all think it is so ugly. But to her surprise, her daughter displayed it at the wedding reception to see if anyone would come forward then and to her surprise some had given the two matching statues to go with it. She now display's them in a guest bedroom waiting for someone to come forward with there bad taste. Lamp added 01/28/1998

Picture of Toy cameraBarb has an ugly lamp for us! Barb's friend Shelly actually offered to buy a pair of lamps to replace it! It belongs to Jimmy Greene, a man of impeccable taste. He bought it in the seventies, and has had it ever since. Some liken it to fake vomit, it reminds others of stuff you scrape off of your windshield. To Barb, the colors, texture, and general ambience is evocative of the zeitgeist of the period. Along with platform shoes, bell-bottom pants, afro hair and Laugh In; this lamp is part of a cultural heritage we hope won't become fashionable again any time soon! Lamp added 12/26/1997

Picture of Toy cameraWell it looks like a leg. It has a black shade and a weird, almost tye-dye stocking base. A black high-heeled shoe is on the base. Isn't it better to have another leg around the house? Lamp added 03/13/1998

Picture of Toy cameraPhilip inherited this pointy, pointy toed goofy orange leprechaun from his inlaws' neighbor who passed away. No one would buy it from their estate sale. It's odd; this matches Phillip's furniture! Lamp added 12/26/1997

Picture of Toy cameraLisa entered this lovely lamp in our contest. She bought it at a now defunct used furniture store in Northeast Philadelphia. The owner of the store originally had two of these lamps; her only regret is that she didn't get to the store soon enough to grab up both! Lamp added 11/7/1997

Picture of Toy cameraWhat can Allison say. Allison was surfing the web for a new lamp, and she found this. The guy that made this calls it "Low Earth Orbit". Allison calls it "Strainer on a Box". You decide. Lamp added 01/6/1998

Picture of Toy cameraHere's a lamp owned by Mr. Bill, "inherited" from Aunt Leah. (No one else would take it!) It is a slim naked nubian woman stretched out on the tree lamp posts. Folks who visit Mr. Bill's place are strangely drawn to this lamp. Just can't explain why... Submitted by his brother Bob. Lamp added 04/19/1998

Picture of Toy cameraDenis found this ugly lamp on the internet. Lucky it was in cyberspace and not the living room where it might be attacked by a large swarm of bees in search of honey. Lamp added 09/23/1997

Picture of Toy cameraJust think! Back in 1950, it took only $19.40 worth of Popsicles, a frozen mouth, lips stained permanently orange, a steady hand and great taste to make this lamp. Lamp added 08/22/1997

Picture of Toy cameraRon's church has an annual charity auction. During cleanup afterward one year, this lamp was discovered. Someone bid and paid for this lamp. Then they refused to take it. Someone tried to give it to all the volunteers. No one wanted it. Someone then said that whoever touches it, has to take it. Ron didn't hear them say that, and he touched it. It is a ceramic lamp. It was donated to the auction by a furniture store. This is a well made, expensive hanging lamp. It is too bad that it is so ugly, especially when turned on. Ron currently has it over his computer work station. Lamp added 02/11/1998

Picture of Toy cameraIf two heads are better then one, then two shades should be better then one. This snake like base holds two tubes for two shades. We have owned a variation of this lamp, which was a child black-a-moor. Folks found the lamp in the trash and passed it on to us Lamp added 09/3/1997

Picture of Toy cameraThe "Bomb Lamp" is circa World War II, it is a one of a kind creation (thank God?). It is made of a real bomb casing, and assorted bullets. I'll bet this would fit in perfectly at an American Legion Hall or VFW lodge. I found this in the attic of a home I was renovating with a friend, I wonder why someone would leave something like this behind? Lamp added 04/18/1998
