Victorian Foot Warmer Carriage Buggy Wood Pierced Tin Heater w Coal Pan & Handle
Antique foot warmer for use in carriage, buggy, sleigh, unheated school, church, home, is a wooden box with turned columns on all 4 corners, pierced tin windows on all sides and top, a metal handle, and a metal pot with riveted handle to hold the hot coals. Box and coal pot show wear appropriate to their age and use as would be expected. They are in good condition for the most part... the exception being an old crack in one wooden piece on the top and some bending to the tin next to it which probably happened long ago when it was being used. A neat old piece that really shows how hard life was for our ancestors not so long ago. It measures about 9" x 7.5" and 6" high.
