Marion Angelica Ceremonial Box Rare Lidded Sculptural Form 1970s Vtg Art Pottery
This ceremonial box is a sculptural lidded form by Marion Angelica. It is a rare, hard to find, early piece from the 1970's. It is slab built with impressed designs, hinged lid, bone-like coiled handle, and braided leather thong and bead ornament. The hinge is a leather wrapped dowel fitted through the sculpted openings. It measures 14.5" high and 8.25" long x 3" wide. There is one tiny chip at bottom edge of lid (see photos). It is in excellent condition with the one exception noted. We purchased this piece in the late 1970's from Langman Gallery in Jenkintown, PA.
