Yachting Portrait Dennis Conner America's Cup Signed Silk Screen
Here is an original silk screened portrait of the America's Cup winner, Dennis Conner, by artist, James Paul Brown. It is signed (James Paul) and numbered (in pencil) 366/1100... which means it is number 366 of a limited edition of 1100. The title: Dennis Conner is a printed element of the silk screen. The paper measures 29" high x 40" wide. It is embossed in lower left corner: HWS. The picture area measures 24" high x 35" wide. It was purchased from an estate sale several years ago. It had been expertly matted and framed. The portrait was held in transparent acrylic corner and side supports and never taped or glued to the mat so it is in excellent condition. It will be shipped (without frame or mat) rolled in a shipping tube.
Brown is well known for his Impressionistic art work and portrayal of famous people in various fields... many from the film, music, and sports worlds. According to his web site, he was chosen to capture the beauty and courage of the America's Cup races in the late 1980's.
Here is some info from James Paul's web site at jamespaulbrown where you can see many examples of his more recent paintings, prints and read more about his life: "In 1982, CBS Sports hired him to capture the World Games in Canada and the 1983 Pan American Games in Venezuela, while NBC sent James-Paul to England to paint the 1985 Wimbledon Games.
