PictureAgate- 2 Picture Agate Polished Stone Pins Brooch Vintage

This listing is for 2 pins with polished agate picture stones, each one set into an ornamental silver colored metal bezel. The larger stone is translucent. It is prong set but someone has glued it into place and a little glue has escaped on one side. A line that looks like it could be a crack runs through the stone at one edge, but there is a different color on each side of the line, so I think it is a naturally occurring fissure. This pin is 2Ó x 1-11/16Ó. The smaller stone is opaque. That pin measures 1-3/8Ó x 1-1/8Ó. Both have safety clasp pin backs. Both are in very good condition with exceptions noted. Both were purchased at estate sales.

PictureArt Deco Unique Pressed Glass Pin Gold Lustre Vintage

This unusual Art Deco pressed glass pin was rescued from the basement storage of an old dress shop in New York City when the building was demolished many years ago along with many other embellishments (buttons, sew-on ornaments, etc) used by the fashion industry at the time. It is old stock, never sold and never used. It measures 1-3/8" long x 7/8" x 3/8" high. Smooth shiny bands of fired on gold lustre alternate with indented textured bands. There are a couple of chips on the underside from the way it was stored and some darkening to the metal findings, but it still looks great. I've never seen another like it in all my 30 years of hunting for vintage jewelry.

PictureCelluliod- 5" Black Celluloid-Rhinestone Pin Flapper Era

Unusual black celluloid and rhinestone pin is 5" long. Celluloid suggests late 1800's/early 1900's so it could be a mourning piece but might be too exuberant for mourning. Probably more likely that it was worn by a flapper to some wild dance or gin joint! In excellent condition.

PictureCopper 50's Art Pin Earrings Repousse Diamonds Vintage

Here's a great looking set of copper artist made jewelry from the 1950's. Large rectangle has interesting repoussed diamond design enhanced by intentional darkened patina. 2-3/8" x 1.75". The matching earrings each have one repoussed diamond hammered with opposite corners to the background square. They measure 11/16" square. The screw backs are soldered in 2 places for security. Patina on all pieces has darkened in spots with time and use. They're in very good vintage condition. Purchased from an estate sale about 25 years ago.

PictureCoro Craft Sterling Silver Rhinestone Pin Pendant w Box

Intricate Coro Craft sterling silver and rhinestone pin and/or pendant reminds me of Queen Anne's Lace or lacy snowflake. 1-7/8" diameter. It is signed CORO in impressed script inside a rectangle with block letter CRAFT and STERLING underneath it with accompanying Pegasus to the side (this mark used circa 1945). Some stones (or maybe the glue around the stones) have a slightly yellow tinge. In very good condition. I purchased it from an estate sale in its purple Coro box. The satiny lining inside the floor of the box has several pin holes. Outside of box shows some light surface scratches and areas of light discoloration, but it's in good condition otherwise.

PictureElegant Retractable Goldtone Mechanical Pencil Pin Vintage

This vintage mechanical pencil has been made into an elegant retractable pin that ladies could wear on purse or lapel... a great way to keep that writing implement from walking away. Hammered golden circle disc. Slim pencil on retractable cord. Back is marked: PAT K & McD Inc Roseland N.J. (I have other similar devices made by this company. One of them is marked with the company's full name: Ketcham & McDonald. They were also, or at some time, located in East Orange, N.J.) The pin clasp has a safety bar that pushes up against the pin shank so you can't loose it. It's marked: Ketchall... probably a composite of Ketcham and catch all. 3-7/8" long. Pencil is 2-15/16" long. Cord is 17" long and can be locked into place by pulling slightly to one side. Release to allow it to retract. Slight wear to some high spots on hammered surface design on circle pin. In very good condition otherwise. A handy device. Also great for hanging a watch from... or glasses. Purchased from an estate sale many years ago.

PictureEnamel Arts & Crafts Guilloche Bar Pin Turquoise Gold Enamel

Here's a pretty little Arts & Crafts guilloche bar pin. It is enameled with transparent turquoise and white fused glass on top of an engraved brass base. The designs look similar to stained glass windows of that era with tiny wing, dot, and star designs that I think look like abstract dragonflies and snowflakes. The corner squares are the brass base. Old fashioned C clasp. 1" x 1/2". There is some greenish oxidation in a few spots on the sides and underside. In good condition otherwise. Purchased from an estate sale about 25 years ago.

PictureEnamel- Big Glass Enamel Pin Brooch 1960's Modernist Eames EraBig Glass

Big modernist glass enamel on copper pin is 2" in diameter. 3 little indents on the underside at the edge where it was set on a 3 pronged stilt in the kiln (the same way plates are fired) so it could be glazed on the underside and not stick to the kiln shelf. Safety clasp on pin back. There is one surface scratch about 1/4" on the largest of the golden shapes. It's in very good condition otherwise. I purchased this piece new when I was an art major in college in a little shop in the village in New York City.

PictureFancy Enameled Glass Pin & Berebi Red Enamel Earrings

This golden circle pin features a large black fancy pressed glass "gem" that is enameled with gold lustre and red, white, and yellow diamonds. It's 1.5" in diameter. A pair of signed Berebi red enamel earrings are also included. The enameled piece is 1-11/16" long. They have some pin point dots in the enamel... probably tiny bubbles that didn't smooth over when the enamel was heated. They aren't very noticeable unless you are looking at them closely. They hang from French hooks for pierced ears. Both were purchased from estate sales.

PictureHuge Artist Pin Aurora Borealis w Dangles, Heart Locket

Enormous glittery one-of-a-kind artist crafted rhinestone pin is 5" wide and 7" long. Lots of sparkly rhinestones: most in the central part of the piece are aurora borealis as are the 3 huge squares, but they are very unusual with a turquoise hue that seems to come from behind the stone. The dangling strands are pink with icy clear circlets at the ends. The center strand ends with a vintage heart shaped locket. It's a spectacular piece, a definite attention getter. All rhinestones are prong set. Big pin back with safety clasp. You can see the silver solder on the back where the artist has joined sections together. I actually purchased it at an antique store about 15 years ago. I've only worn it a couple of times. It's in very good condition.

PictureJudith McCann 60's Vintage Pin Pendant Faux Jade Pearls

Big 1960's era gold tone circle pin from designer Judith McCann has a ring of faux jade glass beads, faux pearls, and golden beads all wrapped with X's of gold tone metal that looks like ribbon. Pin has a hook on the back so it could also be worn as a pendant. Signed Judith McCann. 2-1/8" in diameter. In extremely good condition. Purchased from an estate sale about 20 years ago.

Judith McCann was designing jewelry in the 1940's, 50's and 60's. She patented several inventions in the 1950's... the wingback earring clasp and shuvon clasp for necklaces. Online resources say Judith McCann Designs merged with several other companies in 1975 to form Elle Designs.

PictureJulie Shaw, 2 Modernist Enamel Artist Signed 1970's Pins

Here are 2 brightly enameled pins made by Michigan artist-jeweler, Julie Shaw. We purchased them new sometime in the early 70's from a professional craft show where artists came from around the country to show and sell their work. The blue-green pin has 2 hand formed glass circles and measures 2-5/8" wide. Safety clasp pin backs are glued on. Both are signed: Shaw. PictureVintage Abalone Pins-Signed Taxco Sterling Silver Leaf

Here are 2 great looking vintage abalone pins purchased at 2 different estate sales. The first is a large oval disc of polished abalone chosen from a wonderful spot on the shell which features a central purple "eye". It's 2.5" wide x 1.5" high. The older style C hook pin back is riveted into the shell. It's in very good condition.

The second is a large sterling silver leaf shaped pin made in Taxco. The silver leaf acts as a bezel holding the abalone along with silver "veins". 2-3/8" x 1-3/8". There are actually 3 different marks. The first reads: Hecho en Mexico (in a straight line). The 2nd is a circle with 925 in the center, Sterling, and Taxco around the lower part of the circle. The upper part is hard to read... it may say ALIVO. The 3rd mark is a 3 eagle, the silver purity stamp verifying that it is silver. The eagle marks were begun by the Mexican government in 1948 and discontinued by 1980. There are some dents in the silver on the back. The safety clasp on pin back is stiff and opens to release the pin shank at a not usual position. There is no abalone in the stem. This is how I acquired it and don't know if it should have something there or not... but I thought it still looked good as it is. It's in good condition with exceptions noted.

PictureVintage Victorian Pin Faux Amethyst Gem Dangling Beads

Great looking Victorian brooch is gold colored metal with rose details set with a large faceted amethyst glass rhinestone. 7 faceted gems and beads hang from the lower edge. 2" wide x 2.75" long. I purchased this pin from an estate sale about 30 years ago. The findings were corroded and broken but all the parts were still together in a little box. I used new headwires and jump rings to re-connect all of the hanging parts. Foil on back of large stone is worn along high central edges which can be seen when held to light but not as evident when worn on clothing (unless it is white). There is a small amount of wear or darkening to metal surface at lower left edge. It's still a dramatic piece that everyone will notice when you wear it!
