Jan Mitchell Art Glass Hibiscus Tray Signed Vintage NWT

Here is a beautiful hand crafted fused art glass tray from sculptor and glass artist, Jan R. Mitchell. It is a vintage piece, purchased from an estate sale, but it has never been used, as it still has the original paper labels. It is hand signed, etched in the glass at rim. It is oblong in shape measuring 11-5/8" x 6.5". It is lead free and dishwasher safe. This is an item that is not available for sale on her online site. Other items of this shape and size cost $50.

The tray comes with information about the glass and Mitchell's resume'. Her work is included in collections at the Smithsonian, the Steeple Museum, The Virgin Island Tourist Board in Washington, D.C. and the Thomson Museum in Tennessee. She has designed and crafted ornaments for the National Christmas Tree of Peace for 13 years, exhibited in the International Art Glass Invitational in St. Louis, and was awarded a VICA National Endowment for the Arts Grant.

Her life sized bronze sculpture of the Lady of Justice, a Federal Arts-In-Architecture Installation, stands at the entrance to the Federal Court House on St. Croix, Virgin Islands, where she and her husband have their studio.
