CUNARD Steam Ship-4 Postcards 1931-58 + Early Match Box

This listing is for 5 Cunard Steamship items. Four are postcards with pictures of ships and one is an early match box taken as a souvenir of someone's ocean voyage. Front of box has picture of ship and reads: Cunard Line -Europe - U.S.A. - Canada- Fastest Ocean Service in the World. Back reads: Cunard S.S.Co.Ld. Passenger and Freight Services Southhampton Liverpool London Bristol Queenstown Hamburg and Cherbourg to United States and Canada. Freight Services to all Parts of the World Bryant & Mays Patent Safety Matches. There are no matches left in the box. It is worn and browned. One flint side has torn away from box along one edge. 2-13/16" x 2" x 1". The postcards are described as follows

  • R.M.S."Seythia"-Cunard Lines- postmarked July 10 1931 Boston, Mass-no stamp-Printed in England. Card is worn and browned on back. Front has bumped corners... upper right is creased & wrinkled. Wear on upper edge. 2 raised dot sized bumps to left of mast.
  • Cunard White Star-"Queen Elizabeth"- postmarked 29 May 1951 Southhampton Paquebot - no stamp-Printed in England. 3 thumb tack holes along top edge, 2 on bottom. Bottom right corner is wrinkled. Top corners are bumped.
  • Cunard M.V. "Britannic"-postmarked 21 June 1957 Liverpool-no stamp-3 lightly bumped corners-2 creases lower left corner.
  • Cunard R.M.S. "Eliazbeth"-postmarked Oct 8 1958 Stamford Conn.-2 cent and 1 cent US stamps-light crease upper left corner. Dark marks on message side look like old glue from a scrapbook. They are smooth.
