Gamewell Clockwork Alarm Police Fire Phone Steampunk

Here is a vintage Gamewell clockwork alarm. Inside the clock mechanism there's a cam that opens and closes relay switches. The clock mechanism works independently of electricity and everything mechanical is working. It has 6 external electrical circuit connectors that may be used to call or connect to fire, police, or other emergency personnel. We can see the contact points on the relays. There is no burning or corrosion. They appear to be in good condition but we don't know how to test to see if they work. A stamp next to the 2 gray solenoids is a little smeary but we think it reads: Test 14 AUG 59 20. Backplate measures 9" x 9". Front to back measures 4.75". The plexiglass dome has a number of fine fracture lines radiating out from the winding knob... from age, not abuse. They are probably on the inside as we can't feel them. Everything else is in very good condition. It's an interesting unusual item. Any information anyone would like to share about it would be greatly appreciated.
