2 Old Alvin Sterling Silver Candle Holders Glass ShadesHere is a matching pair of beautiful old Alvin sterling silver candle holders... or candle lamps... with fitted glass hurricane style shades, separate candle holder cups that screw into the weighted candlestick bases and can be removed for ease of cleaning or to use the candle holder bases as candlesticks without the cups and shades. Pretty neat items! I've not seen any like this before. They are marked: Alvin Sterling Cement Filled Reinforced with Rod of Other Metal... so they will be sturdy and not easily tipped... as well as beautiful and romantic. Total height is 10-5/8" to the tops of the glass shades. The sterling bases with cups are 4.75" high x 3-3/8" in diamter at the base. Ground glass bases on the glass shades. Shades are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. I have not polished the sterling parts as many folks have their own way of polishing or not. They are also in very good condition with no dents, splits, or scratches. Purchased from an estate sale.

Box Vintage Gallo Copper Box w Chile Coat of Arms + MottoHere is an old copper box with the National Coat of Arms of Chile raised in the center of the lid. The motto: Por La Razon O La Fuerza (By Reason or Force), used on Chilean currency since 1818, is inscribed on the banner. Original interpretation of the motto was that reason, or the law, was primary, but if violated, reason would be upheld with force. A bill has been pending in the Chilean Senate since 2004 to change the motto to the less aggressive sounding "By the force of reason". This box is marked on base with the maker's mark: A rooster and the words Gallo M. M. Chile. 4" x 3" x 1-7/8" high. The copper had darkened with time and the lid had black stuff on it from being stored in an old garage. When I washed it, some of the dark oxidation came off too so I polished the top but not the rest of the box. There is a tiny dent and still some spotting on the lid. In good condition otherwise.12s6

Chase Art Deco Newspaper Stand w Rooster 1935 VintageThis wonderful Art Deco newspaper stand was made by Chase and is stamped on back of rooster with their Centaur logo and design patent number 95245 placing the year as 1935. I guess the rooster indicates the morning news. It would hold the paper up so you could read it while having both hands free for toast and coffee. Our stand needs some TLC... a little paint remover to to get rid of the black spots on the rooster, then perhaps a little polish to brighten the copper, and possibly a jeweler's saw & propane torch to cut a new letter S and solder it in place. Of course, you could always use it without the S. It will work just as well... or, if you're very precise, use it to hold all your NEW bills and mail... it would be properly labeled for that task. The letter E is slightly bent. 11.75" x 8.5" x 5.25" deep. Purchased from an estate sale.

Chrome Dome Party Dish w Bakelite Knob Vintage Art DecoVintage Art Deco hors d'oeuvres or cheese tray with dome top is shiny chrome over steel with a red bakelite knob. Tray is 11" in diameter with serving area 7.75" x 1" deep. Dome is 8" x 4.75" high. Unfortunately the surface has lots of little scratches and abrasions. Because of the shine and reflection of light in the photos, you probably won't be able to see them, but they are there... nothing deep, but I want to caution you that the photos will look better than the piece actually looks. Don't know if it can be buffed or polished. It's an interesting piece... I've only seen one of them in all my years of hunting. It looks better in the evening under dimmed lighting or candle light than in looks in sunlight. If you're into chrome for the cocktail party, maybe this piece will be a nice addition for something different or until a cleaner one comes along.

Chrome Globe Jar Vintage Deco Step-Down Base Handle LidGreat looking Art Deco chrome globe jar has a black step-down base and black ridged knob on the lid. I'm not sure what the black parts are made of... some type of composite possibly. There's a tiny dig in edge of bottom ring that, through a loupe, looks a bit melted... maybe a coating on top of something else? Very light surface scratches... nothing bad to draw your eye away from the beauty of the overall piece. 5.5" high. Purchased from an estate sale.

Primitive Handmade Iron Bell Cut Rivets Chased DesignsLarge wonderful primitive iron bell was handmade with blacksmithing techniques. Engraved linear decoration was done with chasing tools. Notice the interesting lap joint with hand cut square rivets. 9" high x 5" diameter. A bump on outer surface has been filled inside with a different color metal. It's rusted but that lends to the charm. It has a great gong-like sound. We don't have any history on this piece as we purchased it from an estate sale. It came with a make-shift clapper... a small lock shaped key chain device advertising Classic Chevrolet in Moorestown NJ with phone number. It doesn't look great, but it makes a great sound.

TOLEWARE- SIGNED Floral TOLEWARE Basin Tole Painted ArtArtist signed toleware basin shows excellent craftsmanship in the design, style and painting of these wonderful flowers. They look like Pennsylvania Dutch fantasy pomegranates. Wonderful easy brushstrokes indicate the work of someone who has been painting for a long time. Signed Jean G or maybe that G is a logo of sorts. I don't know. There are a few dents in the metal and wear/pitting to the black paint on the interior, but the painting on the outside is in extremely good condition. Hole in top rim for hanging. Basin is 3-1/4" deep and 10-1/4" in diameter at rim. I think I'd just keepthis one hanging on the wall as a work of art... maybe take it down every once in awhile on holidays to use for something like bread or fruit so it would stay in such good condition forever.
