1933 Worlds Fair 4 Japan Postcards Mikimoto Tea Girls +Here are 4 postcards from the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago, A Century of Progress, all with a Japanese subject or theme.
- 7 Tea Girls in Native Costumes at the Japan Tea Hall, under management of the Japan Central Tea Association - printed by the American Colortype Company of Chicago & New York. Postally unused. Extremely good condition.
- The Replica of Mt. Vernon, home of George & Martha Washington, specially built for a Century of Progress by K. Mikimoto as a symbol of friendly relation existing between the United States and Japan. printed by the American Colortype Company of Chicago & New York. Postally unused. Light water stain across top back. Light bumps to corners. Very good condition. *Point of interest* On-line info from Dec 1933 Time magazine says that the replica was presented to the Smithsonian Institute after the fair by Katsuji Debuchi, who was recalled as Japan's Ambassador to the US. It was 2 feet high, made of mother-of-pearl and 13,000 pearls. It was the gift of Kokichi Mikimoto, a Japanese cultivated pearl tycoon. It had been a part of his firm's exhibit at the Chicago World's Fair.
- Japanese Pavilion and Garden. Printed by the American Colortype Company of Chicago & New York. Postally unused. Extremely good condition.
- Feeding Silk Worms - Info about silk and silk worms given on back. Printed by the American Colortype Company of Chicago & New York. Postally unused. Oriental characters are written on the back in ink. One tiny bump on top right corner. Extremely good condition.

1933 Worlds Fair Burlington Railroad Sky Ride PostcardsHere are 4 paper items with a transportation theme from the 1933 Chicago World's Fair.
- 2 postcards from the Burlington Railroad were available only from the Postal Car on the Burlington Exhibition Train at the Fair. One is 70 Years of Progress in the Railway Post Office. The other is Giants of Speed and Power at a Century of Progress. 70 Yrs has 2 tiny indents at top edge. Both are postally unused and in extremely good condition.
- 1 postcard from the Sky Ride - Card is WF-16, Max Rigot Selling Co., C.T. Art Colortone. Description on back reads: One of the most interessting features of Chicago's World Fair is the "Sky Ride". The towers are 600 feet high. Double decked rocket cars will run suspended from 4 cable tracks between and around the two towers. Postally usused. Ever so slight bumping to 2 corner tips. In extremely good condition.
- 1 folder-brochure from the Sky Ride... "See The Fair From The Air". Tells everything you might want to know about the Sky Ride: cost, specs, who designed it, who built it... how big, how much, and how many of everything. 5-3/4" x 3.5". It's in very good condition.

1982 Sunsphere Souvenir Building Knoxville World's Fair 1982Here's a souvenir from the 1982 World's Fair held in Knoxville, Tennessee. It's a 4" replica of the Sunsphere with this info written around the base. A pencil sharpener is concealed under the open base making it a great desk piece as well as a miniature building. It has a dark coppery looking patina. It's in very good condition. Purchased from an estate sale.

Montreal 7 Souvenir EXPO 67 Book Map Germany Russia Montreal MagHere are 7 souvenirs from Expo 67, the World's Fair held in Montreal, Canada. All were purchased from the same estate sale. All are in very good condition with exceptions, if any, noted next to each. They are as follows:
- Official Souvenir Map - a booklet with 6 different maps, some fold out to 2, 3, or 4 pages long. 11.25" x 8.75" when folded. Largest map opens to about 32" long. Slight straight line creasing on cover edge as maps inside are about 1/2" shorter than the cover.
- The Soviet Union, the Soviet Pavilion, the Soviet Character (the shortest guide book to the USSR) - 6 page, 2 sided folder brochure, 9.5" x 4.25" when folded, opens to 6 times that size when opened.
- German Pavillion - 2 page folder, 9" x 4" when closed, twice that when open.
- Kaleideocope - 2 page folder about the Kaleidoscope presentation, an unfolding panorama of colors complemented by exciting sounds, created by Toronto industrial designer Morley Markson, working with the Institute of Design, University of Waterloo, Ontario. Pictures and list of sponsors on the back. 9" x 4" when closed, opens to twice that when open.
- Montreal Magazine January 1967 is almost entirely devoted to Expo 67 with great photos of various pavillions from many countries. Magazine is 31 pages long. 11" x 9"
- Montreal Magazine April 1966 has 2 articles about aluminum and the buildings, pavillions, that will be made of that metal... and Alcan, Canada's major aluminum company. 7 pages with great photos. One article is in English, one is in French. Magazine is 31 pages. 11" x 9". There are several small tears in the middle of these pages, nothing missing, but like something poked into it and made a break. No info is compromised.
- Montreal Magazine May 1966 has 2 articles about Expo... One is called creativity, u.s. style. It's written in English about the US pavillion, the giant transparent bubble designed by Buckminster Fuller. The other article, also about the US pavillion: les etats-unis a l'expo '67, is written in French. These articles consist of 4 pages with pictures of the drawing of the design and model for this structure. Magazine is 31 pages. 11" x 9"
