8 Tom Collins Glasses Stars 1940s Vintage w Wire CaddyHere's a wonderful set of 1940's era Tom Collins glasses with great looking swirls of stars in a wrought iron or wire caddy. There are 8 glasses, 2 each in yellow, red, blue, and green. Great for the bar, patio, backyard parties. They're good for iced tea and sangrias as well as Tom Collins and other rickey type drinks. Glasses are 6" high. Caddy is 11.5" high x 11.5" wide. Some chipping of white paint on the caddy but it could be easily refurbished with a can of spray paint like Krylon. There is some fading to the outer edges of the stars on the red and yellow glasses but they still look good and are in very good condition otherwise... no chips, flakes or cracks. Couroc Bakelite Cotton Flower Bowls Danish Modern EamesHere is a wonderful set of 3 vintage Couroc bowls with inlaid wood and brass pictures of cottom flowers. 7.5" in diameter x 1.25" high. There are no labels left on them, but those of you familiar with Couroc of Monterey will recognize the pattern and the style. Couroc made all their items of bakelite (phenolic resin) with inlaid wood, brass, rhinestones, mosaic bits and other materials. The earlier labels said: "Unique COUROC Products Are cherished gifts because of their variety and beauty in design. Hand inlaid by master craftsmen, shells, coins, woods and metals are fused into Couroc's famous satin black material which is impervious to alcohol, boiling water, and cigarette burns. By Couroc of Monterey California." Labels on newer Couroc items say it is made of phenolic, and indeed it does test positive for bakelite (phenolic) with the scrubbing bubbles test. They recommend washing with mild soap and water. From experience I can tell you that the metals polish up nicely with "Never Dull". Bakelite can be polished somewhat with "Never Dull" also. Bakelite collectors recommend polishing it with Simichrome.
These bowls were purchased from an estate sale. One has been used. It has some scratches on the inside. The other 2 show little if any wear and are in extremely good condition. One of them has a few white marks on the underside. This is an unusual subject which I've never seen before on any Couroc items. So nice to find a set of 3!!

Decanter- Harper Figural Liquor Decanter Bar Ad 16" ManLarge figural I.W. Harper liquor decanter portrays a dapper gentleman dressed in top hat and tailcoat bowing and raising his hand to his hat in greeting. Stopper is the top of the hat. He's 16-1/2" tall. Front of base is marked in gold with name. Bottom of decanter reads: Original mold made in 1955. Figure made in Portugal in 1969. Manufacturing marks to note: 3 grind marks on side of base and in cuff from the stilts on which it rested in the kiln indicating that it was fired on its side rather than upright which might have caused warping in such a tall thin piece; tiny white spot on hip of tailcoat and another under right forearm seems to be kiln junk or glaze bubble that was ground off; slight purple in glaze around A and R in gold letters of Harper. Another spot near two base stilt marks might be ground or might be a chip... it's hard to tell. In good condition otherwise. A nice dramatic piece for your bar or advertising collection.

Lefton Monk Liqueur Set Decanter 6 Shots 1950's VintageHere's a fifties vintage figural liqueur set for the bar or sideboard... praying monks... which may seem inappropriate... but many monastaries have grown grapes and fermented wines over the centuries... and perhaps they're just praying to be delivered from temptation.
